Life on the Farm

Living on a farm is like living with animals.
We have got sheep and cows and chickens. The chicken coup is near the house. It has big fences and has boxes where the chickens come to lay. We have two of the great layer breeds of chickens. The Plymouth rock and Sussex. They are great layers as we usually get an egg everyday. But chickens can't lay in the winter. Imagine an egg cooked in a pan ... You break the egg and then you pour the egg into the pan. Cook the egg and then eat it with bacon. It tastes crispy and chewy. That's how I start my day. 

We have one hundred beef cows called Angus and we sell their progeny to the market as beef. Our sheep are mainly Romneys which have been around since the 50's and are the most dominant breed in NZ. Dad brought two Finn Texel cross rams and Dad put them to his Wiltshire ewes. I am going to call the lambs "Finntexshire".  The Wiltshire sheep shed their wool for ease of care. The Finn are special because they have lots of lambs and the Texel has lots of meat. Dad also has Poll Dorset stud ewes. Poll Dorset are a meat breed and Dad breeds Poll Dorset rams to sell to other farmers.
Dad got a Dorper Ram to go with his Poll Dorset ewe hoggets so they can have their lambs easier because Poll Dorsets can have lambing problems.
My favourite dog is one of our huntaways. He is black and tan. His name is Rich. I like his colours and the way he  works. He is very good because huntaways bark a lot to get the sheep moving. We have three huntaways.  One is only a puppy though so he is not yet trained. His name is Griz and he is pure black. The other is Zack. We also have three heading dogs called Panda, Meg and Bo.
Yesterday I saw a Cheviot.  A Cheviot is a sheep that has a roman nose and ears facing upwards.  Dad said that he has had that Cheviot sheep for a long time.

Gingy

I have a fat cat.

His name is Gingy.

He is called that because he is orange.

When I cuddle him he feels like a pillow

He  has a sister called Bella.

Gingy is a lazy cat.

He relaxes on his back which is unusual.

He loves to relax.
I like cuddling  my cat, Gingy, because he is a snuggly cat to cuddle with.
I love my cat.

Weta Workshop

Weta workshop

We march proudly to this workshop called Weta Workshop. It was a place where they made movie props. I saw this sheep head from a movie I know called 'Black sheep'. It had real wool on it just like the fleece from our sheep at home. It had twitching ears that were bent a little like a rabbit Its mouth looked like a pig grunting. l also saw this armour from 'The Lord of the Rings'. It was gold and red with lots of intricate detail. My favourite part about it was its sword. The iron on it was gold like a golden flame. Another interesting thing was the masks. I am not sure what they were for but our tour person told us about how it blends in with the person who is wearing it. They were so real that they make it look like their faces. The wrinkly big nose and frowning face was the face of a troll.

Weta Workshop has made a lot of films. I'd love to see more of them!

Making the School Famous

Making the school famous

At Capital E we made our school famous so people will come to our school. We didn't put on our school uniforms because our uniforms were green. It would make us invisible because our uniforms are green and we were using a green screen. So we had to dress up. We were wearing wigs and belts and colourful t-shirts. I dressed up as a cool guy because I found this black wig and decorated belt and a red shirt with shiny buttons.

For the show we all had a job. I was the camera operator at the end. I said on TV that I help keep the books in order.

At the end there was our school song ... but at the very end of the show we were dancing and we were put on YouTube.

The Romans

In the castle the king sits on his throne. The soldiers guard the kingdom. The people live outside the kingdom. There's a bridge that leads from the village to the castle. 
Then the Romans arrived and wanted to take over. The king was angry.  He didn't want to let that happen. So they started a war. Thfa were preering for war . The villages kat dawn the first to make katplls the soldiers wet in tests and the king and afrvr people. The king sid the plan is to Atkins the Romans before they Atkins as we have to tas a around the king and his soldiers het into the Romans kingdom the king siss the Roman soldiers ardingng the kingdom so im since 4 groups of you you you and you be kuiit ual sinking up on the gargs to kindna vem. Tha kindna as \ my fmany as they kuod and they ran to the gat to let the other soldiers in. Then all of a sudden one guard saw him. When they saw him, they realised
that there was one guard left.
The started calling they're here they're here.
Attack!
They opened the gate quickly. Then they told the other soldiers ... They have spotted us. We have to attack.
CHARGE! !
A avalanche of swords crashing together. What will happen next ? 
The archers are up high, but there are too many Romans!  said the king. Fall back. They ran as the archers fired their arrows.
The knights lost 99 soldiers that night. The wounded and some survivors returned to their castle for the funerals. The wives and kids prayed for the soldiers that lost their lives that night. The king sid my man died that night  perfesa  the perfesa sid really year sid the king  my king sid a guy  that is it a problem no sid the guy you catapults year going to try it out so they tryd the
Catapolts on some dummies are you ready said the king year said the catapolt fire and the catapolts  fired and hit the dummies. it works said the catapolt firer yea shouted every 1.
The next day and next plan was to build a bridge over the river. 
Also to find someone to send a scroll to the roman king, saying no war, just a battle between us kings!
Robin hood was sent to deliver the scroll. On the other side  of the river were tents. Inside armour was being built and swords being sharpened. The king was waiting for the Romans to arrive and then the Romans arrived. At last you're here and now for the fight, said the king.
yes said the Roman king. 3 hours later the kings were in their best armour ready for the fight. 
Even the professor was in armour which was very different. He had a bulky suit with purple chest armour and a pointy tipped helmet. His sword was skinny and very pointy.
The 2 kings circled each other until they were going to charge. Suddenly they clashed swords into each others shields. 
Then they took a 3 minute break. 
After this they circled each other and did it again. Then the fight got really violent. But they got tired so the king went 
back.
When the king wasn't looking the Romans king came up to him. The king turned around and got out his sword. There was an "ahhhh" from the romanking. He went back with his arm held under his armpit. Some of the romans put a bandage around his shoulderand armpit.  then the king said, "Het keep your life."
One of the romans said it was over. the roman king said, "it is now."
The roman king quickly grabbed an arrow and fired the arrow. Clearly it missed.
Then he said "Fire catapults and other stuff."
The king said, "they have got catapults."
Fire our catapults and charge, said the king.
Alot of romans got hit by the catapults.  so did the romans.
One of the archers said to the roman king, our men are getting hit. We have got to fall back.

The king said quickly let's chase them down.     The nights chased Romans until they got to the bridge. Suddenly the river water washed backwards. Then a wave came to the romans they
