Dear Chony,
Next year I am leaving Apiti for Huntley School. And thank you for helping Blair and for writing the meeting minutes, ringing around, organising the trail bike ride and the Apiti show judges lunches.

Charles Darwin
Charles Darwin was born on the 12th of February, 1809. He was born at the mount. In Shrewsbury in England.
His father, Robert Darwin was a famed doctor. He had five brothers and sisters. His mother died when he was eight. His mother's family was called the Wedgwood's and lived close by. Charles liked his family but he didn't like school.
Back in the 1800's school was not fun for kids. They had a hard time because there was so much work and they had to do what the teacher always said to them.
Instead of being at school he went collecting beetles and watching birds. He liked to collect interesting beetles in his father's garden.
He and his brother Erasmus built their own shed together. They were best brothers.
As a teenager he became obsessed with shooting and often went out shooting with his uncle Josh and William. His father was worried that he would become one of the idle rich. This means a rich man that doesn't do anything. He told Charles, "You care for nothing but shooting. You will be a disgrace to yourself and family!" Charles clearly enjoyed shooting and was very good at. But his passion for shooting eventually faded, One story states that he once came across that a bird was shot the day before and still alive.
Darwin found fossils from some extinct armadillos in Southern America. The skeletons were much larger in size than the existing ones. He was good at observing the differences. Charles Darwin realised that the species must have changed over time. This is his theory of evolution.
These are just some of the ways Charles Darwin is such an inspiring person. ... He has made some amazing discoveries and observations! Some day I would love to discover just like him!

Mr Mr Sunny is a yellow flargy that shines like the sun. Mr Mr Sunny has a big smile on his face. Mr Mr Sunny has a black business hat on his sparkling head. He is the greatest of all the flargies, and the most successful flargy in the whole world. Mr Mr Sunny is nice to other flargies by helping them with problems because he can't ever refuse a cry for help.
He always says yes to everything to be the most important, helpful person in all of the flargy town and he always says yes to everyone to be the best flargy in the whole world.
E.G Can you please help me out of the tyre please?

I think it is great to help other people who are in trouble because they will help you too. And they will help you with what you need and want too, and you will be important out of the other flargies and the most expected to help out with a lot of problems. With the greatness inside Mr Mr Sunny the best flargy in the whole town.
I think it is great to help other people who are in trouble with some stuff that they're trapped in or
can't find etc.

Extinction
It's creatures gone forever
It's creatures being killed a lot
It's creatures having trouble adapting
It's creatures struggling for survival in their new world
It's creatures rotting to their bones when they're dead
It's the end of their kind.

It's a change of city
It's a change of rules
It's a change of land
It's a change of farm's
It's a change of what we have

Why a revolution...
Why a revolution...
.
Maybe we are tired of the way things are
Maybe we want a better future
Maybe we want rules
Maybe we want more land
Maybe we want something better for farm's
Maybe the government says so.

Life on the Farm
13/05/2014
Living on a farm is like living with animals.
We have got sheep and cows and chickens. The chicken coup is near the house. It has big fences and has boxes where the chickens come to lay. We have two of the great layer breeds of chickens. The Plymouth rock and Sussex. They are great layers as we usually get an egg everyday. But chickens can't lay in the winter. Imagine an egg cooked in a pan ... You break the egg and then you pour the egg into the pan. Cook the egg and then eat it with bacon. It tastes crispy and chewy. That's how I start my day.

We have one hundred beef cows called Angus and we sell their progeny to the market as beef. Our sheep are mainly Romneys which have been around since the 50's and are the most dominant breed in NZ. Dad brought two Finn Texel cross rams and Dad put them to his Wiltshire ewes. I am going to call the lambs "Finntexshire". The Wiltshire sheep shed their wool for ease of care. The Finn are special because they have lots of lambs and the Texel has lots of meat. Dad also has Poll Dorset stud ewes. Poll Dorset are a meat breed and Dad breeds Poll Dorset rams to sell to other farmers.
Dad got a Dorper Ram to go with his Poll Dorset ewe hoggets so they can have their lambs easier because Poll Dorsets can have lambing problems.
My favourite dog is one of our huntaways. He is black and tan. His name is Rich. I like his colours and the way he works. He is very good because huntaways bark a lot to get the sheep moving. We have three huntaways. One is only a puppy though so he is not yet trained. His name is Griz and he is pure black. The other is Zack. We also have three heading dogs called Panda, Meg and Bo.
Yesterday I saw a Cheviot. A Cheviot is a sheep that has a roman nose and ears facing upwards. Dad said that he has had that Cheviot sheep for a long time.

Gingy
I have a fat cat.
His name is Gingy.
He is called that because he is orange.
When I cuddle him he feels like a pillow
He has a sister called Bella.
Gingy is a lazy cat.
He relaxes on his back which is unusual.
He loves to relax.
I like cuddling my cat, Gingy, because he is a snuggly cat to cuddle with.
I love my cat.
